What you see here is one of the craziest and most ambitious projects to ever be completed. This is Arkup #1, a luxury houseboat that was created by a visionary company called Waterstudio and completed earlier this year. It’s this amazing two-story home that just floats and remains unbothered not even by winds of up to 155 mph. The house is also pretty massive in addition to being incredibly stable on the water. It offers 4,350 square feet (404 square meters) of floor space and it’s 75 ft( 23m) long.
Arkup #1 is the first of its kind, with plans to build three more similar structure in the near futureThis amazing floating house uses stabilizing hydraulic stilts which make it impervious to waves and strong winds
As if the size and design alone weren’t impressive enough, this one-of-a-kind floating house is equipped with tons of cool features such as a 36 kW solar panel array and a 1,000 kWh battery that can power it off-the-grid. Other included features are a rainwater collection and purification system and a pair of engines.
The houseboat has a minimalist rectangular shape with a slide-out deck areaThe deck serves as an outdoor lounge space and has glass railings
The house also has stabilizing hydraulic stilts which are probably its most noteworthy design feature. From an aesthetic perspective the house is super cool and modern, featuring huge windows that frame the amazing views and a very clean and chic interior decor. Of course, all of that comes at a price which in this case is a whopping US$5.5 million.
The house also has its own engines which allow it to be moved to pretty much any locationInside, the spaces are organized on two floors, both with full-height windowsThe interior design is minimalistic and contemporary with subtle nautical influences
The upper level houses four bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroomThe bedrooms also have chic little work areas and beds that face the glass wallsThe views are obviously a very important part of the house’s design, as it’s naturalThe full-height windows let in lots of natural light and create a very peaceful and serene ambiance insideThe slide-out deck is a really cool area which also takes full advantage of the viewsThe ground floor has an open plan design and this is where all the social areas are gathered togetherThe ground floor lounge area is super bright and stylish, with sliding glass doors leading to the deckThe light wooden accents and all the neutrals go perfectly with the rest of the decorThe color palette is reduced to a few simple and neutral nuances, allowing the focus to be on the viewsThe deck is absolutely amazing, featuring glass railings for unobstructed viewing angles
