This property is located 25 north of Seattle in the USA. It was a project developed by Seattle-based design studio Finne Architects and it was completed in 2012. This luxurious property is a contemporary house that was originally built in the 1950s. The house was renovated and updated while still retaining the original charm and some of the original features of the design.
During the renovation, the house got new windows that are visibly a lot larger than the original ones, as well as glazed roof monitors. The floor plan also had to be reorganized and restructured in order to become more functional and to suit the new contemporary design. The large windows and floor-to-ceiling glass walls allow a seamless transition from inside out and it almost eliminates the visual barrier between the indoor and outdoor spaces. It also creates a strong connection with the surrounding forest.
After the renovation, the house got a spacious master bedroom and master bath. They have views of the forest. The main living room and the dining area have also been enlarged and they also got a roof monitor with high windows that brings natural light inside. The kitchen has been enlarged as well. The house now features a contemporary design with minimalist interior decors and beautiful juxtapositions of textures and colors. The interior has been decorated with lots of personal, crafted items and custom made furniture.
