Renovated Diamond House by Abis Arquitectura

The Diamond House is a beautiful beachfront house located in Sierra Dorada, Benidorm, Alicante, Spain. It covers a surface of 324.9 square meters and it sits on a 1,000 square meter site. When its current owners found it the house was almost a ruin. In was in an advanced state of degradation and the original structure was hardly visible.They contacted the architects from Abis Arquitectura and asked them to help renovate the house.

The team started to rebuild the house and the whole project was completed in 2010. Over the years, several changes have been made and several additions have been created so the architects had to rethink the whole design. They managed to revive its original character. Originally built in 1964, the Diamond House was beautifully recovered and improvement. All unnecessary architectural elements were removed and only the truly significant elements remained.

After simplifying the whole structure, the architects also had to update it. Some of the original features were preserved and combined with modern elements. The internal spaces were redistributed on three floors. The first level is composed of the main entrance, situated under the porch, and a series of sitting areas. The second floor contains the living room and the kitchen and they are facing the pool, garden and terrace. The upper floor is a private zone that contains four bedroom suites with views of the Mediterranean Sea.{pictures by Toni Elvar, Vicente Martinez}.
