Modern Villa Makes The Most Of Its Double Orientation

A double orientation can often be the detail that puts a home over the top. A good example is House C, a residence built in the Montebelluna district of Italy. Completed in 2015, the house is facing the village on one side and a private garden on the other. It was a project by Zaetta Studio.

The villa was built for a couple and their three children and had to offer a balance between two different lifestyles involving family cosiness and professionalism combined with friendly gatherings. The house sits on an area measuring 1000 square meters and was organized on two levels.

The lower level contains the main social zone. An open plan kitchen shares space with a dining area and a living space that’s directly connected to the outdoors. The wine cellar and the garage are also part of this volume.

A minimalist white kitchen with a stylish island occupies the space closest to the sliding doors that lead out to a terrace. In front of the kitchen island is a 4 meter long dining table created using reclaimed wood boards.

The rest of the open floor plan represents a spacious and inviting lounge space defined by a Bend sectional sofa upholstered with gray fabric. The modular composition coordinates well with the black accent wall behind it and complements the neutral décor.

The upper level is framed by a spacious terrace built of teak wood. It offers views of both the garden and the neighborhood. Up here there’s a lovely family room decorated with tones of black and white and featuring full height panorama windows and sliding doors with access to the terrace.

The Michel modern daybeds by Antonio Citterio are displayed elegantly, creating a beautiful and comfortable ambiance. There’s also an adjacent space that’s part of the same open floor plan. Here, a set of A.B.C. leather armchairs and an oversized floor lamp offer a more private seating area, also framed by large windows and beautiful views.

The upper level also houses the master bedroom and its lovely private terrace. It’s a simple and chic space decorated with neutral colors. The same type of simplicity also characterizes the en-suite bathroom which has views of the garden and large mirrors that highlight its spaciousness.

In addition to these main spaces, the villa also includes a fitness room with its own private restroom and Jacuzzi tub and a guest suite, both situated on the same level. All the transitional spaces such as the entryway and hallways are spacious, airy and feature a classy and chic look emphasized by various accent details such as a round wall mirror that hides a secret storage space.
