Modern Residence Built Of Reinforced Concrete And Wood

Located in Kobe, Hyogo, Japan, this residence has a very simple but also very interesting design. It was a project by Coo Planning. It covers an area of 75 square meters on a site that measures 76 square meters and it was completed in 2013. It’s a small house but it sits in a great location. Situated here, in this quiet neighborhood, it’s the perfect place to raise a child.

The house was designed for a couple and their child and it was built out of reinforced concrete and wood. The style chosen for the project was minimalist so the house has a very simple and basic design. It has four levels, all very well defined and designed. Despite the small dimensions of the house, the architects managed to include everything the clients needed, including a garage, a deck and a study.

The garage is situated at the base of the house. The level directly above it contains the entrance along with a tatami room, a bathroom and a bedroom. The nest floor is a social space that contains the family room and an open kitchen. This is the third floor of the house. A ladder leads to the study room. It’s a space that’s open to the living room. To maximize the space available and to also create an open and airy décor, the architects designed this house with the internal space completely open from the front of the house to the back.
