Artistic dresser makeover

There are lots of ways in which you can restore a dresser. The simplest one would be to just repair the damage is existent and maybe to add a fresh coat of lacquer or paint. But if you have the time and the necessary spirit you can also attempt something a little more complex. For example, you can get some inspiration from this project.This used to be an old dresser with a plain, simple look. It was in wonderful condition.

However, it lacked that spark, that je ne sais quoi that makes it stand out. It’s why its owner decided it was time for a makeover. After that, the dresser became a one-of-a-kind piece of furniture with a unique and very creative design. It now has a sea-inspired look. The front of the drawers features a beautiful ship, the classical image we’re used with.

The dresser was transformed drastically and the change was achieved by using a reverse stencil technique. Here’s how you can do the same for your dresser. First take out the drawers and tape out the inside of the dresser and then remove the hardware and do the same for the edges of the drawers. Insert the drawers back and apply the decal. Remove the top layer of decal and repeat for the second side as well. Lightly sand the dresser and apply a coat of primer. Then apply two coats of white paint and start removing the decal immediately after. Remove the tape, install the hardware and you’re done.{found on flor}.
